Japanese Textiles and Crafts Festival 2019
Thanks to all of you who made it out to the Isle of Dogs in October 2019 for the Japanese Textiles and Crafts Festival at The Forge.
It was a real treat to be included in the line up again.
We were listed as an official event in the Japanese Season of Culture by the Japanese Embassy and in Time Out too!
You can see the full programme of future events on the Japanese Embassy website.
I ran a couple of classes - Makiage and Guntai shibori with indigo and Sashiko embroidery.
If you want to try a Japanese textiles craft come to one of my Workshops.
I brought examples of my Shibori resist dyeing work, Katagami stencilling, Sashiko embroidery and Boro mending and there was a wide range of work from other Japanese textiles designers and craftspeople inspired by all things Japanese.
For those of you who didn’t make it this time I thought you might like to see a few photos of the event.
We’ll be running it again in March 2020 so you’ll have another chance to see all the great work on display. And some new stuff too!
You can see details of all the exhibitors on the official website.
